Thelma Davis Obituary

Thelma Amelia Davis was born June 7, 1935 in Pennsauken, New Jersey to William and Minnie Leary. A long time resident of Camden, New Jersey, she moved her family to Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1962. Thelma worked many years in the field of nursing and she spent her life dedicated to her family. Over the years Thelma would return to visit her hometown where she enjoyed visiting with her relatives. She also enjoyed giving others advice, telling stories of her past, and sitting in the yard enjoying the sun. Someone asked me one time to describe our mom. The word I thought of was fierce, our mother was fierce! Yes, she endured all pains, sorrows and losses of life but she did it with the grace of a true Queen. Underneath it all what ran through her veins and her very essence was a mothers love. Words cannot describe how much you will be missed but here is your legacy....Sons, Will Davis Jr. o f Ft. Wayne Indiana, Irvin Davis of Savannah, Georgia, Anthony and Angelo Davis both of Camden, New Jersey, Daughters, Bertha and Tina Davis of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Roberta Johnson of Tampa, Florida, Sister Mildred Freeman of Camden, New Jersey, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her parents William and Minnie Leary, sons, James Lee and Robert James Davis, a brother, William Leary, sisters Pearl Scrivens, Bertha DeShields, and Ruth Fisher Leary, grandchildren, Ty'Leesha and KyJauan Davis, Blair Johnson and Nicholas Edwards, Jr.
