Our History

In the summer of 2002, Theo Stanley, Jr. purchased the Waples Funeral Home in Camden, NJ. Founded by Author Waples, Sr. and operated by Gretchen B. Waples, it was noted as one of the premier funeral homes in Camden at one time. Shortly after purchasing the funeral home, Theo closed it down to do some much needed repairs. After about three months of renovations the funeral home was reopened in April of 2003 under the name of Stanley’s Memorial Chapel. 

Today Stanley’s Memorial Chapel has grown three fold since opening its door. Everyday we continue to build a professional and dignified legacy in surrounding communities, offering a variety of services for the everyday person.
